The Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International (SRI) launched their Game Changer program with NBA Champion Dwyane Wade, and his charitable organization, Wade’s World Foundation to offer basketball programming that would benefit youth in underserved communities in the Caribbean.
Due to the success the program showed in transforming the local communities, it was expanded outside of basketball to introduce a soccer component and the partnership with the DeRo Foundation was born.
The Sandals Foundation Game Changer Programme is active in the islands of Jamaica, St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados and Turks & Caicos. We were very excited to run our first program in Negril, Jamaica... and even more excited about the positive response we received from the kids, their coaches and the community.
